Toronto, ON – February 5, 2024 – Toronto DAO, the city’s pioneering decentralized autonomous organization, is pleased to announce the unanimous adoption of its first proposal, marking a historic moment in establishing a groundbreaking economic and governance model. This model is consistent with the values of the local community, emphasizing transparency, inclusiveness and innovation. To celebrate this important event, DAO Toronto is hosting a launch event on February 13, 2024. at Casa Mezcal, 291 King St W, Toronto, ONfrom 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
A new chapter in decentralized management
The successful proposal, titled “Creation of the Toronto DAO,” symbolizes the official recognition and establishment of the Toronto DAO as a key player in supporting community-led governance. Voting took place on the Snapshot.org platform, a decentralized, gasless voting system that ensures a secure and transparent voting process for the DAO and blockchain community. This platform allows token holders to vote on proposals without incurring transaction fees, promoting greater participation and engagement in the community. The motion was unanimously adopted on Snapshot.org highlights the strong support and willingness of the community to participate in a decentralized organization dedicated to innovation and meaningful change.
